Application Description
Is used as an analytical reagent, used in soap making, papermaking, textiles, printing and dyeing, pharmaceutical, battery, electroplating and other chemical industries and organic synthesis.
1.Adding potassium hydroxide to the latex system can form a hydrophilic protective layer on the surface of the latex particles, increase hydration, and improve the mechanical stability of the latex; potassium hydroxide can be used to adjust the pH value of the latex and increase the surface charge of the particles.
2.Potassium hydroxide is used to extract humic acid from coal.
3.Promote the growth of non-VAN der WAALS two-DIMENSIONAL materials: ①OH-CAN effectively reduce the binding energy of the material and the substrate surface, so that the substrate is more conducive to the epitaxial growth of the material, thereby growing a larger transverse size of the two-dimensional material; AND OH-CAN reduce the binding energy between the inside of the material, which is conducive to the growth of thin layers of the material.②K+ can passivate the edge of the crystal, thereby promoting the growth of the material into regular two-DIMENSIONAL NANOSHEETS.
4.Preparation of dimethyl acid: (1) Formic acid-potassium hydroxide method Due to the wide source of potassium hydroxide and the low price, the formic acid-potassium hydroxide method has become the mainstream method for preparing potassium dimethyl acid in China, but the reaction yield of this process route is low, the exothermic reaction is severe, and the process is not easy to control.
(2) Methyl formate-potassium hydroxide method In recent years, not many methyl formate hydrolysis methods have been used, but it can be combined with potassium hydroxide method to prepare potassium dimethyl acid, which is suitable for industrialization.However, since the domestic production of formic acid is still dominated by the sodium formate method, not many methyl formate hydrolysis methods are used, so the domestic promotion of this method will still take time.
5.Lanolin saponification to prepare cholesterol: ethanol is the solvent and potassium hydroxide is the raw material. After saponification, the product is separated and purified to obtain cholesterol.
